Central Bank releases March's Economic Activiy Index
According to preliminary information, last March Economic Activity Index ("IMACEC") increased 3.1% over the same month a year before, chilean Central Bank informed today. This results was under market expectations and consensus forecasts for this indicator.
The seasonally adjusted series showed no variation with respect to the
previous month, and an increase of 4.7% from March 2012. Meanwhile, the
cyclical trend series recorded an annualized expansion of 4.2%. The month came with two workind days lessthan March 2012.
The result of the month reflected, mainly growth in the mining and trade sectors, which was partially offset by a drop in manufacturing activity.
