Endesa wins the electricity supply contract for Madrid City Council


Endesa is to supply electricity to Madrid City Council for the next two years with an option for a third. The company secured the contract put out to tender for the supply of energy to the municipal buildings and equipment of Madrid City Council and its autonomous bodies.

Endesa announces 1Q14 results

According to the latests statement from Endesa, net earnings attributable to the company's controlling shareholders reached Ch$ 35,902 million, a decrease of 43% when compared to March 2013, mainly explained by a higher procurement and services cost and a greater negative exchange rate difference. Consolidated electricity sales declined by 7.2% to reach 12,905 GWh, mainly as a result of lower physical sales in Argentina and less non-regulated customer contracts in Chile.

Colbún reported revenues of US$413.2 in 1Q14

According to the latest statement from power company Colbun, energy sales volume to customers under power purchase agreements during 1Q14 reached 3,004 GWh, 17% higher than contracted physical energy sales recorded during the same period of the previous year and 5% lower than 4Q13. The increase as compared to 1Q13 is due mainly to the new long-term supply contract with Codelco that started in Mar13, and to a lower extent to an additional short-term supply with the same free customer that started in May13. The decrease in contracted sales for the quarter versus the previous quarter is due mainly to the expiry of two contracts with free customers.

Chile's Ministry of Energy obtained USD $50 millions to develop PV projects

The Chilean Ministry of Energy announced in a statement published on may, 6th that it had obtained funding to develop photovoltaic projects (PV) for USD $ 50 million from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF). The financial support will be provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) as soft loans for investors.

Colbun informed it's results for the first quarter of 2013

According to he information presented to the Chilean Securities and Insurance Supervisor (SVS), Colbún reached a profit of USD $ 24.4 millions in the period ended on march, 31, 2013.  This results is an increase from the USD $ 9.2 obtained in the same three months of the previous year.

Enersis' net income decreased 16 percent during 2013 first quarter

Enersis Group net income reached CLP $84,159 millions in the first quarter of 2013,  decreasing 16.4% from the CLP $100.661 millions registered in the same period of the last year, based on the information presented by the company to the Chilean Securities and Insurance Supervisor (Superintendencia de Valores y Seguros - SVS).

Endesa's profits decreased 4% during 1Q2013

Endesa
Net profit attributable to the Parent Company of Endesa reached $63,334 million in the period ended on march 31, 2013, a 4.4% decrease compared to the figure posted in the first three months of 2012. This was largely due to the $14,950 million higher deferred tax expense in Chile and a one percent increase in the tax rate in Colombia.
