Goodbye Rapidshare!

Did you use Rapidshare to share files? Well, the Switzerland-based company, considered one of the pioneers in secure online storage, will be closed on March 31st, 2015, as it is informed on the company’s website.

In a small statement, the company informed that extensions of products such as  STANDARD PLUS and PREMIUM will be possible until February 28th, 2015 but after March's end all accounts will no longer be accessible and will be deleted automatically.

Rapidshare started operations in 2002 and quickly became into one of the most popular sites to host and share files. The problem was it also hosted copyrighted material. It began a long period of legal issues and changes, in which the site had to adopt anti-piracy measures that, finally, produced a mass exodus of customers.

Well, everything that has a beginning has an end. Rapidshare will be no longer there to backup your files. In a month, it will disappear. You have an entire month to move your files into another place.
