Chile's Consumer Price Index registered an 0.8% increase in march

According to figures released by the local National Statistics Institute (INE), consumer price index (CPI) registered an increase of 0.8% during march, accumulating 1.5% in the first three months of the year.

In march, 10 of the 12 divisions of IPC basket saw an increase in their prices.  Among this divisions are Education (4.9%) and with an incidence of 0.391 percentage points (pp); Foods and Non Alcoholic Beverages (0.8%), representing a 0.151 percentage points and Clothes and Footwear (1.4%) and a 0.057 pp incidence.

Inside Education, the university education services increased 5.0%, the services related to the second cycle of basic education were up 4.8% and high school education rose to 5.9%, inciding all of them in 0.291 pp over CPI general variation.

In twelve months, this three products reached increases of 5.4%, 5.2% and 6.2%, respectively.
